RAUNCH opened on the heels of ROCK AGAINST REAGAN,  July 4th 1984 as a bastion of hope for the underground, the disenfranchised, the hope of a brighter future, THE PUNX!!

Embracing the optimism of NO FUTURE, we trudged forth in our belief that there was, indeed, a future for Punk, New Wave, Heavy Metal, Art, Science and Free Thinking to enable us to tackle any obstacles toward the new Milennium.

Bound only by our imagination did we feel we could not only change the world but become better ourselves. Of course, these are lofty ideals for a RECORD STORE, and that’s just what we were. The new music of the time, provided angst and urgency, breathed life into the huddled minority and exploded into the status quo never to look back and apologize.

To be certain, there were definite factors that helped us create the space known as RAUNCH. The never ending search for a new vision, a voice, a standard of excellence, a standing in the community, a realization the we are worthy of our attention.

We recognize that without the community we embraced, none of this would ever take place. We tried to make a safe space for all artists, musicians, and creators. we thanks all the touring bands, the radio stations, and print media that helped solidify and enhance our idealism.
